The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for directing and supervising the Payroll Department’s daily operations and ensuring that accurate and timely payrolls are processed for all employees of the Hospital, Medical Group and District Commissioners.
Responsibilities:
- Manage payroll staff, participate in payroll processing and reporting, and provide customer support to both internal and external customers and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws; all hospital policies and all union contracts.
- Accountable to update and insure all payroll policies comply with the law; maintains employee payroll records and master files.
- Provides oversight and active engagement in benefit plan administration to insure accurate application.
- Assists Human Resources and Accounting Departments by supplying payroll related data and reporting. Will assist in the direction of the Human Resource Department in the absence of the Executive Director Human Resources as directed.
Job Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Business Administration or Accounting strongly preferred; may substitute substantial experience leading a Payroll Department for degree.
- Certified Payroll Professional and Fundamental of Payroll Certification preferred.
- Knowledge and experience working in a public, unionized environment strongly preferred.
- Previous health care experience expected; three – five years Payroll experience required;.
- Ability to operate variety of equipment and computer programs; Ability to prioritize workload; Ability to communicate both verbally and in written format effectively.
- Ability to deal with stress in a positive manner.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is a must.

Pay: $30.00 – $38.00 per hour
